Job Description

Guerra Plastic Surgery Center in North Scottsdale is seeking a Full Time Surgery Scheduler. We are looking for a professional, intelligent, compassionate motivated, energetic, and friendly Surgery Scheduler. This team member must be driven, poised, articulate, and possess the strongest of communication skills. Able to multi-task effortlessly, prioritize efficiently, handle patient requests, manage the database, place inbound/outbound calls to patients, handle all scheduling tasks in person, on the phone or email. This is an extremely fast-paced and professional environment.

Job Purpose

We are currently hiring for a Surgery Scheduler for a full-time position to help us schedule all of our plastic surgery cases with our Lead Surgery Scheduler.

Job Duties

Oversees daily surgery scheduling operations of a busy plastic surgery practice.

  • Ability to schedule surgery in person when patients are in the office, via phone or email.
  • Courteous, efficient and effective customer service to all patients.
  • Optimizes patients' satisfaction, provider time, and operating room utilization by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone.
  • Comforts patients by anticipating patients' anxieties; answering patients' questions; getting them ready for surgery.
  • Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information.
  • Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information.
  • Assists with office opening and/or closing procedures.
  • Assists team with high-volume phones when necessary.
  • Assists with any other requested administrative duties.
  • Must be able to multitask in a highly organized manor.
  • Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed.

Job Requirements

College, Some College or High School level education; knowledge of medical terminology, medical computer programs; type 40 wpm; Proficiency in Word and Excel are required. The position requires someone who is personable, dependable and responsible, with excellent organizational as well as verbal and written communication skills. Must have a positive attitude with impeccable customer service skills. Bilingual is a plus.

  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must successfully pass a background check and drug screening
  • Experience working in a scheduling position is a plus.

  • Must be able to display exceptional customer service skills
  • Ability to speak, write and read English fluently - clear and effective communication both orally and in writing
  • Experience in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to answer and transfer telephone calls efficiently
  • Ability to perform basic math functions
  • Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office - Word, Outlook)
  • Ability to file charts accurately
  • Must be dependable, enthusiastic and have multitasking abilities
  • Ability to work independently and with others
  • Willing to perform other duties as needed
  • Must be able to communicate with the doctor and team members as needed to complete scheduling duties
  • Must be able to work 8 AM to 6 PM
  • Bilingual Spanish a plus
